OACC’s 37^th Annual Conference took centre stage at the Blue Mountain Resort from April 21-23. The event attracted over about 160 delegates for professional development and networking.

“The conference was a great opportunity to evaluate the important role career colleges play in educating Ontario’s labour market and to discuss the future of the sector,” said OACC Executive Director Paul Kitchin.

The conference featured presentations from more than 20 speakers on the latest issues in employment and training. The Hon. John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, headlined the conference’s opening ceremonies on April 21. Other speakers included comedians Meg Soper and Doug Funk. Allan Scott, Superintendent of Private Career Colleges at the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, made an informative presentation on April 22. Assistant Deputy Minister Laurie LeBlanc provided the latest information on the Employment Ontario transformation and the Second Career program in her April 23 presentation. The conference went out on a high note with Paralympic Gold Medallist Paul Rosen. The longtime Team Canada sledge hockey goalie gave a spirited and empowering talk to delegates.
