PCCs not closed in event of public college strike
The Ontario Association of Career Colleges is reminding the public that the province’s private career colleges will not be affected in the event of a strike at community colleges. Members of the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Support Staff (CAAT-S) have set a strike vote for July 14.
“At Ontario’s private career colleges, it’s business as usual - helping students improve their lives with quality education from people who care,” said OACC Executive Director Paul Kitchin.
Most career colleges have frequent start dates throughout the year and may enroll students as often as once per month.
There are over 600 registered career colleges in more than 70 communities across Ontario. Students can earn a diploma or certificate in about 12 months in many exciting fields, including: business, law, information technology, the trades, esthetics, health care, social services and electronics. Private career colleges provide a full range of support services for students, including career planning, interview preparation and job-finding skills, from day one until graduation.
